The first hint of cool air is my cue to pull out my favorite soup recipes. There’s something so cozy about a pot of hot soup on the stove, from the therapeutic rhythm of chopping vegetables, to filling the dutch oven with hearty goodness to the comfort of ladling a bowl full of warm soup.
Some of these recipes are family favorites that I grew up with, while others were shared with me years and years ago. All of them have become a cool weather tradition in my household.
Today, I want to share that tradition with you.
Quick Tip: Create a Recipes folder in your Notes app. Save the recipes you’d like to try to that folder.
Taco Soup
Keep Taco Tuesday going throughout the cooler months with a big pot of taco soup. I love how easy and affordable it is to make. And the smoky flavor always has us going back for seconds.

Pasta e Fagioli
This Olive Garden CopyKat Recipe is so good. It has a bold, rich flavor and is so filling. This one has a longer list of ingredients and takes longer to cook, but it’s so worth the wait.

Chicken and Dumplings
My mom used to make this chicken and dumpling recipe when I was growing up. This family recipe calls for just a few simple ingredients, even using biscuits for dumplings. There are no words to describe the flavor except to say it’s a spoonful of homemade comfort in every bite.

Chili
Some say chili isn’t a soup. I guess I don’t really think of it as a soup either, but I include it since you cook it in a big pot, and it’s smoky, warm flavors are so perfect for Fall.
This chili is also a family recipe from my childhood. Traditionally, it’s the first thing I crave when the weather turns cool.

As you sit down with your bowl of soup, I invite you to take a deep breath before your first bite. This simple act calms our nervous system and helps us eat more mindfully. Savor the flavors, feel the warmth in your belly, and let yourself be nurtured.
