It’s was always a little hard to let go of the classroom at the beginning of summer vacation what with ideas running around in my mind and the rush of finishing another school year and all.
But after about two weeks, I typically would transition into a slower pace and truly embrace summer..what classroom?
July would then be filled with vacations, or in our case this year, staycations, making memories, lazy days, beach trips, easy dinners…
Then as August approached, so did thoughts of going back to school.
Even though I no longer have a brick and mortar classroom, that’s very much been my process over this classroom, Sharon E. Hines, this summer. I couldn’t entirely stay away at first, but then it eventually grew quiet around here.
Now, I’m easing back into the idea of starting fresh as I begin my 4th year of blogging.
This week, I’ll be sharing 19 Bathroom Cleaning Hacks, possibly a recipe, and Recommended Reading is back.
Over the next few weeks, I will have some furniture projects to share.
I’m also partnering with Sherwin Williams to (finally) finish painting these walls. Those reveals will take place over the course of several months. (Because I’m slowing down in my middle age. And speaking of middle age, I can’t believe I’m turning 46 this month! Thankfully my younger husband and teenaged daughter keep me young at heart.)
I’m going to step out of my comfort zone a little bit, (because I’m middle-aged and it’s high time that I start living out my life long dreams) and start sharing more straight stories.
In other words, writing that may or may not have pictures and may or may not have to do with home decor or d.i.y. Because life is made up of stories; stories filled with memories and meaning and life lessons. There’s value in that. And those stories are part of what makes a house a home.
I am looking forward to seeing you in class!
