Texans take their barbecue very seriously, smoking brisket for days, slow cooking baked beans to perfection, and getting “Momma’s recipe” for potato salad just right.
And July 4th is the perfect occasion to pull out all of the stops and host a family bbq.

When I entertain, I like to keep it casual, and nothing says casual quite like a buffet.
How to Set up a Buffet
I’ve pulled out my white dishes, and gathered up anything red, white or blue that I could find around the house to use as July 4th decorations.
Following this diagram, I got to work setting up the buffet.
July 4th Centerpiece
I created a simple centerpiece using a wire caddy, a lantern, candles and a flag made out of construction paper, craft paint and a skewer.
A couple of star cutouts add color to the utensils.
Happy 4th of July!
