There’s no time like Mother’s Day to support your and your mom’s pastimes, which is why I’m so excited to share “Mother’s Day Gifts for the Gardening Mom,” hosted by the incredibly talented Kari of Thistlewood Farms. It was an absolute thrill to partner with the talented ladies to bring you ideas for the gardening mom today.
So, grab your gardening hat because you’re going to be blown away!
5 DIY Mother’s Day Gifts
- First up, Laura from Finding Home showed us how to create a darling Fairy Garden.
You can even get the kids involved on this one!
2. Then, Janel from Nellie Bellie showed us how to make an herb garden in a box.
I still daydream about growing a little herb garden on the back patio. I just can picture myself leisurely clipping fresh herbs and tossing them into the pot on the stove.
3. Next, Robin from All Things Heart and Home shared how to turn terra-cotta saucers into coasters for enjoying a refreshing beverage outdoors. The aging effect, which Laura shares in the video, takes this project to the next level.
I love these coasters so much, I’m going to make some to keep on the front porch.
4. I shared a DIY gardening journal for keeping track of your garden. If I’ve learned anything about gardening is that a beautiful garden is a lot of trial and error. This journal is a simple way to know what kinds of plants you have and how to care for them. Over time, these notes can result in a well-planned landscape.
5. I also showed off a super simple idea for making plant markers. I can see the kids enjoying putting these in the dirt for you.
Watch the video to get all the details and instructions for making these wonderful mother’s day gifts.
Pursuing hobbies is a really great way to incorporate self-care into your life. What better gift is there?
See you in class,

I love doing the hangouts! You’ll have to be my guest sometime. Fairy gardens have definitely grown on me and just earlier this evening I was thinking that it might be a fun summer project for my daughter and I.
